Our owners, John and Arlene Malinski, pride themselves on setting Summit Pointe apart from other senior living communities in the area as well as focus on family values. That is why you’ll see our hot air balloon out and about and why we offer so many unique features.

MEET OUR TEAM

Let us introduce you to our amazing leadership team. We strive each and every day to provide great care to our tenants.

Cheri Orcutt

Executive Director

As the Executive Director of Summit Pointe, I bring 15 years of experience from the healthcare industry. I began my career in a nursing home setting in Human Resources. I advanced into the manager position in an assisted living and memory care community. I am excited to be here where I found the career I was destine to do!

I graduated from Mount Mercy with a degree in Management and Minor in Psychology and Social Sciences. Most recently, I received my certification through the John Maxwell program for speaking, teaching and coaching. I believe in cultivating compassion and growth of individuals that serve the senior population. While providing a home with individualized opportunities for you and your loved ones.

I grew up in a small, older community. I am the youngest of 11 children. It was in this community that I found my desire for connecting with seniors. This grew to a passion for helping seniors live a fulfilled life in the next chapter of their journey.

I am fortunate enough to be in a place where it is not difficult to find a work life balance when you truly love the work that you do. I enjoy going to work as much as I enjoy spending time with my husband and our children. My free time is spent outdoors with family and friends, being involved in our church and reading.

Joshua Campbell

Director of Sales and Marketing

As the Marketing Director at Summit Pointe I truly believe that your family is our family. On a daily basis I have the opportunity to help mom and dad transition to their new home here at Summit Pointe. I grew up in a small town outside of Dayton Ohio before moving to Columbus shortly after graduating high school. I began 20+ years in sales and management. I live right here in Marion and really enjoy the small town friendly atmosphere the close knit community brings. In my spare I enjoy spending time with my kids, biking the local trails, fishing and when possible, spending time on a beach soaking up the sun.

Brett Taylor

Environmental Service Director

As the Environment Services Director at Summit Pointe Senior Living Community, I am responsible for directing the general operating maintenance, transportation, repair and housekeeping of the facilities. Our department is dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable living experience for Summit Pointe tenants. I grew up in a small Iowa town, where you knew everyone. Summit Pointe is like that to me, we know everyone, care for everyone and always here to listen and help. Working at Summit Pointe is very rewarding and there is always a new challenge. In my free time, you will find I do a lot with my own family, or out for a ride on my Harley.

Terrie Winslow

Culinary Director

As the Culinary Director at Summit Pointe, I have the pleasure of working with people every day! I feel incredibly blessed to spend the majority of my time developing the menus to provide a great meal experience for everyone at Summit Pointe! Food brings everyone together and I am thankful my team and I have the opportunity to do this on a daily basis. I grew up in Ohio, on a farm east of Toledo. I attended the University of Toledo and studied Fine Arts with minor in Business. I worked in the Grocery Industry for many years which brought my family to Iowa. My family and I have lived in Marion for over 20 years. I enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, spoiling my grandson, and still decorating cakes!

Nicole Farley

Human Relations Director

I am very grateful to be working with such a fantastic team. As the Human Relations Director, my focus is to create a positive, fun, and supportive work environment and recruit/retain the best of the best. I live in Marion, IA with my two dogs. I grew up in Ottumwa, IA and graduated from Upper Iowa University. My mother worked as a beautician in a skilled nursing home, which gave me the opportunity at a young age, to spend a lot of time with the residents and help make their days a little brighter. I’ve had an interest in senior living ever since. I am so lucky to be a part of the Summit Pointe Team!

Natasha Ajeti

Director of Nursing

As the Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing, I am passionate about the healthcare of our tenants. I am blessed to work with an exceptional team to ensure that we can meet the needs of each individual. Every tenant is important to me. While our entire team is committed to a high standard of excellence, I will also be working one-on-one with tenants and their families.

A little bit about me: I am from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. My husband and I have 3 children. In 2014, I graduated from Kaplan University with my Associate of Science in Nursing. I worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from 2014-2018 and most recently at Unity Point Hospice as the Clinical Nursing Supervisor. When I am not caring for tenants, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, attending church and enjoying the outdoors.

Kayla Howk-Erwin

Life Enrichment Director

As the Life Enrichment Director, I lead a team in building an activity program that fulfills the individual needs and wishes of our residents. Quality activities that engage mind and body, connects and gives back to the community, provides extended learning all while building relationships. I believe in providing unique, diverse and enjoyable opportunities for each of our residents. I truly cherish moments spent with your loved ones and consider myself lucky to work at Summit Pointe.

I grew up in Minnesota and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders. While attending school I volunteered at a local health care facility where my future mother-in-law worked. After school, I accepted the position as the Director of Therapeutic Recreation at that same facility. My Husband’s career brought our family to Iowa. I’ve had a variety of career opportunities but find the most joy working with seniors. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my boys wrestle and play football, riding our motorcycles, camping and traveling.
