Sara Kuempel, Executive Director
As the Executive Director at Summit Pointe I have the pleasure of working with people every day! I feel incredibly blessed to spend the majority of my time working with our tenants and developing our staff to best serve the community.
I grew up in the Chicago-land area and went to school at the University of Iowa where I received my BA in Finance and Marketing. Before Summit Pointe, I worked in the Beverage Industry for 6 years and realized my passion for working with people. Now I have the ability to use that passion aiding you or your loved one in making Summit Pointe your new home.
In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking and spending time with my family. My husband and I live right here in Marion and have 2 sons and a black lab, Lily.
Joshua Campbell, Director of Sales and Marketing
I grew up in a small town outside of Dayton Ohio before moving to Columbus shortly after graduating high school. I began 20+ years in sales and management. I live right here in Marion and really enjoy the small town friendly atmosphere the close knit community brings. In my spare I enjoy spending time with my kids, biking the local trails, fishing and when possible spending time on a beach soaking up the sun.
Kate Stevens, RN, Director of Nursing
As a Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing, I make sure that the health care that we provide at Summit Pointe is the best. I am very excited to lead the clinical team here at Summit Pointe so you get great care!
I was born and raised on a farm near Ames, Iowa and attended Gilbert High School. I began working as a CNA at 16, went on to nursing school and joined Summit Pointe in 2009. I live in Kalona with my husband and 6 dogs. I enjoy playing with my dogs, swimming, rollerblading and playing cards. I look forward to meeting all of you. Feel free to stop in my office and say hi!
Crystal Zimmerman, Life Enrichment Director
I like to think that life is all about the adventure! Some days are challenging, but most days my life is full of love and laughter. As the Life Enrichment Director at Summit Pointe, I have the pleasure of helping enhance the lives of your loved ones, and our staff on their adventure through life. My job is to provide exciting activities so that everyone at Summit Pointe has something to look forward to every day. The Activities staff works hard to bring people together through fellowship, parties, trips, and of course laughter.
I grew up in Marion, and moved to a small community in Nevada my freshman year of high school. That chapter of my life truly helped shape the person I am today. It’s where I discovered my passion for people, and the personal joy I feel putting a smile on somebody’s face. During high school I worked with Seniors, and knew right away I’d like to be doing it for a very long time.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to work at Summit Pointe. The people here have a big influence on my personal and professional adventure through life. In my free time I like to rock climb, hike, kayak, bike, travel, and try new things.
Tami Pickering, Human Resource Specialist
As the Human Resource Specialist, I am building a dedicated team to ensure a great living environment for our customers. I enjoy working in an atmosphere like Summit Pointe where I can make a difference in people’s lives.
My experience as a general manager prepared me for working in a setting like Summit Pointe with a driven and motivated team of professionals. I am excited about the opportunities to recruit, train and retain staff for our community.
I grew up in Newhall, Iowa and have spent most of my life in the Cedar Rapids area. I previously worked in a variety of businesses and enjoy the aspect of bringing people together. In my free time, I am always on the go. I enjoy watching sports, attending theater productions, trying new recipes and entertaining friends and family in my home.
Brett Taylor, Environmental Service Director
As the Environment Services Director at Summit Pointe Senior Living Community, I am responsible for directing the general operating maintenance, transportation, repair and housekeeping of the facilities. Our department is dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable living experience for Summit Pointe tenants.
I grew up in a small Iowa town, where you knew everyone. Summit Pointe is like that to me, we know everyone, care for everyone and always here to listen and help. Working at Summit Pointe is very rewarding and there is always a new challenge. In my free time, you will find I do a lot with my own family, or out for a ride on my Harley.
Terrie Winslow, Culinary Director
As the Culinary Director at Summit Pointe, I have the pleasure of working with people every day! I feel incredibly blessed to spend the majority of my time developing the menu recipes with the culinary cook’s and kitchen staff for our tenants greatest food experience! Food brings everyone together! Our tenants, their families and our staff deserve the best food, period!
I grew up in Ohio, on a farm east of Toledo. I attended the University of Toledo and studied Fine Arts as a major with a minor in Business. I worked in the Grocery Industry for many years starting as a Cake Decorator and working my way up to a Bakery /Deli Supervisor, which brought my family and I to Iowa. I had the opportunity to take care of my customers and teach others how to run a profitable department and realize my passion for people! I now have the ability to make a difference in the food and service provided to our tenants and families, right here at Summit Pointe! My husband and children have lived in Marion for over 20 years. I enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, spoiling my 2 year old grandsons, and still decorating an occasional cake or two!
